Referee Assignments

TORSO is affiliated with the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) and uses only USSF certified assignors and referees.

How Matches are Assigned

Match assignments are made roughly one week in advance of each playing weekend depending on changes made to the schedule due to weather or field availability. The TORSO assignor will assign matches based on the level of competition and experience of the available referees. Per USSF guidelines, referee assignments are rotated. If you have recently upgraded or have experience that would be helpful in determining the level of matches that you are capable of officiating, please discuss this with the TORSO assignor.

You may contact the TORSO assignors:

Match Fees and Payment Process

For the current playing season, TORSO will use the following referee pay scale:

Referees are paid on a weekly basis for matches completed the previous week. In order to assure that timely payment is made to you, please submit your match report via the TORSO web site within 24 hours of completing your match.

Match Duration

All TORSO matches are full 90 minute games comprised of 2 - 45 minute halves. A 10 minute halftime interval is provided. Water breaks may be given during each half without adding stoppage time.

Approved Referee Systems

TORSO abides by USSF policy and assigns only 3-referee crews or single center referees. Dual or 2-center referee systems of control are not to be used in TORSO matches. Matches that have only 2 referees assigned to them should use a center referee and a single assistant referee - no dual center referee systems should be used. The use of club linesmen is an option if a second assistant referee is required.

Become a TORSO Referee

If you are interested in becoming a TORSO referee, please complete our referee registration form. We are continuously looking referees at all levels. Referees with less experience will be assigned to experienced referee crews so that skills can be developed for adult soccer.
